The top cabochon is a royal-blue, gemmy Kyanite cabochon. The drop is a pear-shaped Boulder Opal with a dramatic, electric-blue opal deposit in a ground of warm brown ironstone. Kyanite beads, and Apatite beads.
The tiny seed beads are both Japanese and Czech glass in a variety of sizes.
The lobster clasp, extender chain, and crimp beads are Sterling Silver.
The necklace length is your choice: just choose what length you'd like, (up to 24 inches at no extra cost), plus I add a 1.5 inch extender chain on each piece. If you'd like it shorter or longer (than the options in the drop-down menu), just message me.
Your new necklace comes packaged in a pretty, sturdy cardboard gift box, with cotton padding.
Shipping within the USA is free, and international cost is automatically calculated depending on where you live.
How it's made:
The setting is made of tiny glass seed beads, which are hand stitched, one bead to the next, with a fine beading needle, using a heavy duty 6 lb test-strength, spun, braided, nylon beading thread. There are multiple plies of this thread in every bead! I start making a netting to form the back side of the bezel, and then, while holding the stone in place, I stitch one bead at a time around the perimeter of the cabochon, slowly building the beaded bezel, tailor fitted to each unique gemstone, until it is encased. My beadwork is NOT attached to the stone, just well fitted to it.
The straps are strung on cable, which is made of 49 strands of stainless steel microwire, coated with nylon to protect it from abrasion, rated at a minimum of 10 lb test strength.
When you look at these, bear in mind, I am NOT a photographer. I guarantee this is prettier in person!! (Everyone tells me so! :D) I took these photos in natural daylight and do my best to accurately portray the colors as they look in real life.
